Technical features:

The system
is based upon sticker labels in various packaging including an RFID
smart chip that complies with ISO14443 standards. These labels allow
writing and reading of information related to assets stock management.
They also include an anti-theft protection that can be activated
or deactivated on request.
Contactless
smart cards for library customers comprise the same chip. The chip
has a 512bits E²PROM memory size in a read/write mode. Its
security features are based upon a new algorithm derived from France
Telecom T2G. An anti-collision protection allows single items management
like a CD labelling within a whole CD pack and the quick new inventory
of all assets on the shelves.

Benefits:

Libraries benefit
from an innovative solution vs bar-code labels and tags which are
more expensive and do not offer the same functions. It is the first
label to manage 100 items within one second and comprise an anti-theft
detection ranging up to 1 meter on the same label.

Libraries
personnel can take care of other value added tasks such as reading
or musical advice.
They can
rely on their database to make statistics and renew stocks, change
items on a frequent user base, adapt them to the readers or listeners
etc.
Return automated
machines make it easier to return items out of the opening hours
and in other locations such as schools, train stations, shopping
centers
Customers access cultural items easier and quicker
and will be enticed to borrow more of them.
Revenue increase
due to the easy-friendly system and anti-theft device and indirect
revenue will also come from a better management of statistics and
knowledge of customers requirements.
Libraries
offer a modern, up to date, high tech image and may enlarge or increase
their market segments.
