ASK expands contactless handheld reader portfolio |

Today, ASK releases HCR318, a new handheld reader for transport, reload POS, ticketing and events applications. HCR318 is one of the best cost/performance ratios of contactless handheld readers on the market. A battery with a large autonomy facilitates daily usage for all controllers. “The HCR318 broadens our portfolio with a cost effective reader embedding our UCM contactless module, says Amand Cochet, VP Marketing at ASK, ASK has always been keen on its twofold expertise in cards and readers.” The HCR 318 supports various communications via GPRS, WiFi, Bluetooth and CDMA USB dongles and comes with a wide range of connectivity to fit most needs. Lightweight with an ergonomic modular design, HCR contains 3 SAM slots. This handheld reader comprises a memory size of 32 MB SRAM, 32 MB Flash, a 128 x 64 pixel backlit LCD. The HCR 318 is also available without a keypad. ASK may of course customize the HCR case with the client’s own logo and colors to suit their needs.
