ASK launches TwinSet, HF/UHF convergence for contactless smart cards

Paris, Cartes show, Novemeber 17, 2009
ASK, a worldwide leading expert in contacless technology has released TwinSet, a contactless smart card that combines HF (High Frequency) and UHF (Ultra-High Frequency) features on the same card. TwinSet paves the way to new applications that require two different cards to address specific purposes. eGovernment secure identity and identification markets are the perfect targets for this innovative contactless feature.
Every time a card user needs to be identified with a short and a long communication distance on the same card, TwinSet fits perfectly. TwinSet allows to embed on the same card 3 different features: a UHF chip for fast track access (e.g: toll or parking access control), an HF chip for compliance with the existing equipment for building access control and a contact chip when necessary for logical access control.
“TwinSet range is available with all HF and UHF chips and can be delivered in contactless inlays for e-Passports, contactless smart cards or paper tickets, says Fabien Guichon, ASK Identity Business Line Manager. TwinSet combines these HF and UHF features to offer a user-friendly, contactless smart card for employees and travellers. ASK’s expertise in contactless inlay manufacturing and its unique technology process enabled us to bring together the enhanced features of both technologies.”

So, if you want to see why TwinSet fits perfectly your needs, come to our booth and ask for your personal sample!
