1998
: introduction of ASK first contactless
smart card to the French cities Nice and Amiens. In the same year,
the company conducted and R&D project using low cost paper based
smart tickets which received an ANVAR label (French State Agency for
Technology Innovation).

1999
: the
company extended its market position in France into the cities of
Metz, Avignon and Noisy le Grand. The first applications using microprocessor
cards for banking, e-purse, identification and security were launched.
The company won its first access control project with the Glasgow
rangers F.C ticketing system in the U.K.

2000
: the company rolled out a large number
of projects in Europe, including Venice, Naples, and the largest worldwide
reference with 480,000 cards for the city of Lyon. The company was
also selected for the Paris metro project for 300.000 cards. ASK launched
the first biodegradable smart paper ticket and started an R&D
project to produce antennas at a low cost. To meet growing client
demand ASK launched a first production line supporting two million
cards a year.

2001
: the company confirmed its worldwide
position as the de-facto ticketing standard through a full range of
contactless media as the market started to take off with major projects
including Lisbon (500.000 cards), Taipei (500.000 cards), Macedonia
(1 million contactless paper tickets) and Paris (600.000 cards).In
fall 2001, the company made a significant move on the market by acquiring
the assets of Motorola's contactless smart card division which included
some manufacturing equipment, technology and a client base in the
US, UK, Italy and Japan.

2002
: the company continues to impose its
standard in Europe. Contracts such as Grenoble, Bordeaux, Rome, Manchester
and Rhein-Ruhr region in Germany illustrate its strategy. Recurring
orders from existing customers start demonstrating the success of
ASK's business model. The C.ticket®, contactless paper ticket
reaches large volumes for the first time with Capri, Italy, involving
an order of 3 million tickets.

2003
: The C.ticket keeps expanding
and Portugal goes full contactless with the biggest order ever of
15 million tickets. The company enters the US market on a large scale
with San Francisco and opens an office on the Eastern Coast to support
the growing market in contactless and RFID applications.ASK enters
the RFID market and enhances its portfolio with a full range of paper
labels, the C.label for supply chain, logistics and all item tracking
applications.

2004
: ASK registers first multi-million
RFID labels orders for libraries. ASK enters the e-ID market with
SPID, which stands as Smart paper ID, a new product for the e-identity
market. It is pre-selected by GPO (Government Printing Company) for
the US e-Passport. In transport, Netherlands goes full contactless
with ASK products.Meanwhile ASK moves to a 6000 m² brand new
manufacturing plant and offices in its headquarter in Sophia-Antipolis
and increases production capacity with 3rd generation RFID equipment.

2005
: ASK wins Oslo city, it is the
widest Mifare Desfire contract in public transport. Meanwhile JCDecaux
selects C.ticket® for its new rental bike service Cyclocity®
in Lyons. Meanwhile, ASK is the recipient of the 2005 Frost &
Sullivan Market Leadership Award in the contactless world smart card
market. To enter the contactless market in China, ASK creates a Joint
Venture with Tsingha Tongfang (THTF), number 3 of Chinese computers,
near Beijing.
Nicolas Sarkozy, current French President, comes and visits ASK in
November.

2006
: ASK wins the first e-Passport
market with the Greek passports. The new PrivaC. range is awarded
a Sesame. The new generation of couplers and readers complies with
ISO14443 and ISO15693 standards. ASK market presence in the US includes
Atlanta while Paris spreads Navigo pass. During the XXth Winter Olympic
Games, Torino turns to contactless with ASK cards and tickets. ASK
is certified ISO9001.
